Annual Report 2008
The 2008 Annual Report of the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Humon Security provides detailed information on some important activities and results obtained thereafter under the Department's Action Plan and those which proceeded according to the Performance Agreement and the Financial Report. It covers the Department's main duties and projects implemented throughout the fiscal year 2008 based on its 5 strategic issues, namely strengthening social protection, promoling and building the capacity of the target population in making a living, building the capacity to prevent and protect the target population against social risks, building the capacity of older persons and families towards self-reliance and developing the system of social development and welfore networking. Such strategic issues are in line with the 3 strategies of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Strategy 1 - Providing social welfare development and livelihood security, Strategy 2 - Enhancing the moving force for social development and the prevention and solving of social problems; Strategy 3 - Strengthening and creating people particion. They also proceeded in response to the Public Information Act of B.E. 2550 (2007). I do hope that this annual report will be a source of useful information for agencies in both public and private sectors, students and the general public with regard to our dutie and the results of implementing various projects and rendering services during the past 12 monihs. The information can also be used for the formulation of guidelines of how to provide social development and welfare services that respond to the nature of problems and the way of life in each local community/area with all sectors within society are encouraged to be involved.
