Annual Report 1995
The implementation and promotion of social welfare programs for the under privileged people in order to provide them with opportunities and rights to services essential to leading decent lives as well as to redistribute welfare services to become more accessible to these people, have been the primary responsibilities of the Department of Public Welfare since its inception on September 1, 1940 or more than half a decade ago. In the years to come, it is auspicious that the Royal Thai Government has set clear direction on welfare programs as specified in the Eight National Economic and Social Development Plan to be implemented in 1997 to 2001. In this 1995 Annual Report, the Department of Public Welfare is pleased to present our major accomplishments elucidating in the plans entitled namely, Social Welfare and Social Work Administration, Social Welfare and Social Work, Land Settlement Development and Occupational Promotion, and Hilltribe Development. It is therefore hoped that this publication will be beneficial to the governmental and non-governmental organizations, and those interested people.
