Annual Report 2024
The Annual Report for Fiscal 2024 is produced with the aim to disseminate information and promote public relations to inform the public in general concerning the outcome of performance by the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The main mission of the Department of Social Development and Welfare is to provide social work and social welfare services for the target groups and to promote and support the role of communities and local authorities in the provision of social welfare services. The aim of such provision is to enable the target groups under its service coverage to be equipped with the ability to lead their life and the capacity to eventually become self-reliant. It is also the aim of the Department of Social Development and Welfare to reduce social disparities within society proceeding under the vision of the Department which is on “The target groups have access to social welfare leading towards self-reliant development on the basis of participation”. Guided by the vision, an annual action plan (for the year 2024) of the Department of Social Development and Welfare had subsequently been formulated covering 3 main subjects: First, an action plan on development of social welfare system to upgrade the quality of life of the target groups and society on a sustainable basis; Second, an action plan on strengthening of networks from all sectors as driving force for social development and provision of social welfare; Third, an action plan on service development and efficient organization management. We do hope that this annual report will be useful for both people in general and the agencies that are concerned in particular regarding the outcome of performance by the Department of Social Development and Welfare in the year 2024. Achievements made all through the year as detailed information is presented in this report would be unattainable if there was no cooperation being provided continuously by all parties concerned. We, therefore, wish to express our deep appreciation for their kind cooperation and unfailing support which made such achievements possible.
