Annual Report 2013
This Annual Report for the Fiscal Year 2013 was prepared with the aim to disseminate information and inform the general public about the outcome of rendering services and implementing a variety of activities by the Department of Social Development and Welfare which proceeded continuously during the past year. It was a result of performing the duties of the department that has been playing a significant role in social development and improvement of social welfare systems. The successful outcome of past performance further contributed to the task of improving social as well as the quality of life of the people which were the department's main duties and strategies. The Action Plan for the year 2013 was subsequently developed and used as a tool to guide the actual implementation. This included the systematization and development of both the institution-based and community-based types of social welfare service providing such that they were up to standard whether seen from the form, the process or the management point of view. They also included the strengthening of participation process that involved all sectors in the provision of social development and welfare. Such provision responded effectively to the government policy and kept abreast of changing social situation, the nature of problems and the needs of the target population, communities, local organizations and networks of social Development and welfare. All these would lead to better capacity of the people and communities to become self-reliant and to eventually achieve sustainable development.
