Annual Report 2020
The Annual Report for Fiscal 2020 is prepared with the aim to inform the general public about the outcome performance by the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Sooial Development and Human Security. The main mission of the Department of Social Development and Welfare is to provide social work and social welfare services for the target groups and to promote and support the role of communities Mocal authorities in the provision of social welfare services. The aim of such provision is to enable the target groups under its service coverage to develop the capacity to lead their life and eventually become self-reliant. It is also aimed to reduce social disparies within society through the implementation of policy which is formulated from brainstorming, oo-implementing and sharing accountabilies. Four strategies have been applied in order to pursue social development: developing policy recommendations, mechanisms and systems of social welfare and social development; upgrading the quality of life and strengthening the capacity of the target groups; promoting and supporting all sectors involved to generate the driving force for the provision of social welfare and social development tailored to be suitable with the farget groups and areas and; strengthening the capaoity of organizations for policy and service management. We do hope that this annual report will be useful for both people in general and concerned agencies regarding the outcome performance by the Department of Sooial Development and Welfare in the year 2020. Achievements in the past as detailed, information has been portrayed in this report, are the results of continued cooperation among all parties concerned ranging from the top-level administrators, officials and staffs of the Department of Social Development and Welfare, other governmental and non-governmental organizations to the civil society that were involved. We wish to express our deep appreciation for their kind cooperation and unfailing support which made such achievements possible.
